Hi, this is something that I just though of-can anybody share their experience. I know about fatigue, loss of hair, etc. but I've never heard anybody talk about possible radiation burns. If any body had any on their face, does the face seem more sensitive.
Hi meyati, my husband had cancer (yes pledge, before you ask, YES) and I asked him about your question, his radiation was like nothing, in fact his entire experience was, to him, just a burp in our smorgasbord of life.
But he did say that one can indeed be burned by radiation. We both hope that your situation is as easy as his was, for him, not me! I was a wreck, so expect your loved ones to be hysterical, meyati.
All the best dear Lady,
Hello meyati... I don't know if this will help you or not, but my grandad had radiation therapy years ago for oral cancer. He got cancer from years and years of chewing tobacco and smoking pipes. During his therapy, he did lose his facial hair and he lost his sense of taste and smell on the side that they did the therapy, but he never had any burns. I'm not saying for sure that they can't happen, but I know that he didn't have that happen to him. I hope this helps some, and good luck! :) Brandee
Hi Meyati. How are you feeling today?
No, I've never had this happen to me. All the information I have is from look ups on my computer. According to what I read, yes it is possible. I wish I could say something more positive. I just love ya and I want you to recover quickly. I know in my heart that you're going to be your healthy self again. I have tons of hope and prayers. God always listens to my prayers.
A dozen roses,
Hello Meyati. I have a friend going through radiation therapy for breast cancer. Blisters are quite possible. However, for some they have little effects long as the area is kept well hydrated and something like Cetaphil is used on it a number of times per day. She has only had redness and is near the end of her 30 treatments. Only recently has it appeared more rash like. The last few treatments are focused on the tumor areas. They expect blistering like a bad sunburn. She was told to keep the skin healthy with a cream on it at all times. They also said her keeping with the careful care has prevented a lot of problems that people have by not doing this. She has very fair complexion.
