Can you take amoxicillin and penicillin together for a tooth infection?

Yes, for severe tooth infections dentists have prescribed both amoxicillin and penicillin.
However, it's important to note, it's not a common occurrence.
In most cases dentists usually only prescribe one antibiotic.
A commonly prescribed antibiotic for tooth infections is amoxicillin.
If however you are allergic to penicillin your dentist would choose a different type of antibiotic. Clindamycin or metronidazole are two commonly prescribed antibiotics if allergic to penicillin.
Most tooth infections require a 5 to 7 day course of antibiotics.
