I was taking bentyl for my IBS and diverticulitis for cramping. It didn't work all that well so I went online and searched for possible alternative. After viewing several sites including Mayo Clinic's I learned that amytriptilyn was also being used for IBS. It just so happened I have some amitriptilyn my neurologist perscribed for leg pain. It worked for awhile but eventually it quit working as good so I stopped taking it for my legs. Now that I found out it works for IBS I stopped taking the bentyl and started taking the amitryptilyn. It was amazing the first couple doses almost stopped the pain and cramping. But now the cramping is returning so I was wondering if Icould take both medicines? Please respond and let me know what I should do... THANKS!!!
