Hi, I've just been prescribed Zoloft by my psychiatrist. I'm starting with 25mg. It says to start at 1, every night for 4 days and then increase 1 more tablet every night until I reach 200mg. Which means at one point I'll be taking 6-8 pills at a time. Is that safe or normal to do? I've never taken that many pills at one time before. After that, my next prescription is for 2x 100mg
Hi Tania, I have to confess that I find working up to 200mg in such a short span of time a little unusual (the standard dose being 50mg to 200mg); but then I didn't spend years becoming a psychiatrist either. I think when I started they put me on 100 mg/day (but it turned out to be wrong for me for other reasons). However, won't 6-8 tabs a day be fearfully expensive?
It would be interesting to see what dose others started on here.
Wishing you the best of success.
