Since I've been on xarelto (about 3 months) I have woken up.a number of times dizzy and I can't breathe. It scares me. It doesn't happen during the day. The only thing other that is I take the xalerto at night with my dinner and when I lay down at night I feel dizzy at times in the back of my head. I also am at times dizzy during the day and just explain it away as sinsuses. Does anyone else have similar experiences?
I can't say I get panic attacks because of taking Xarelto. But I could say after having a 2 day AFIB attack, 2 days in the hospital, an electrical cardioversion and then being told I have to take Xarelto and other drugs; It's a lot to thinks about. I would suggest you've had a similar experience. It's a lot to process. I did have some feelings of dizziness a few days initially. REMEMBER, No NSAIDs for pain or headache, use only Tylenol or generic version when on Xarelto. I've been told I probably have sleep apnea and what you described IS a symptom of apnea. I'm a 66 year old man, obese and non-smoker. I will have sleep study in a lab overnight 2/8/2015. My brother (younger) has severe apnea and is now on CPAP machine when he sleeps. He now sleeps thru the night and feels way better. His wife liked it but it disturbed her sleep.
He doesn't thrash all night and snore like a water buffalo anymore. She's not used to it. So... maybe just anxiety about your new health problem or maybe apnea.
I'm so glad you made this post. I've been on Xarelto for about three months now as well, due to a bloodclot in leg, caused by Lupus. I have definitely woken up a few times dizzy and trying to catch my breath. I wouldn't call it a full panic attack though, it doesn't get that far. It last for probably about one minute then I calm myself down but, the dizziness is still there so I just lay back down. I do get dizzy throughout the day with slight nausea. I'm not sure if it's completely due to the Xarelto, b/c I have Lupus and gallstones both of which, cause nausea and dizziness. Thus, making it difficult to pinpoint the cause since both general symptoms.
Also, do you experience difficulty sleeping? I don't want to call it full insomnia, but it's very difficult trying to go to sleep. Then sometimes when I finally do fall asleep I wake up alteast twice in the middle of the night, either with trouble breathing or just randomly wake up.
