I am taking 1 MG Xanax XR daily. for two years and I am trying to get off of it. Doc prescribed .5 MG XR and it made me feel terrible. It is too big of a reduction for me. She said take a .5 one day then go back to 1 MG for two days. Then .5 for two days and then back to 1 MG. There is not a .75 MG in XR. Any better ideas? Can I switch to IR and lower my dosage slowly that way? Can I take a .5 RX and a .25 XR to make .75 MG?

I was on the regular xanax/ xr..and in my opinion I didn't like the xr version it didn't help me but that is me..I am now on klonipin and it helps me soooooo much better with my panic attacks/anxiety..now onto your? I agree with the other poster you need to talk to your dr about this..just tell he/she that the xr version is making you feel terrible just like you told us..maybe the dr will put you back on ir and taper you that way or maybe they will put you on valium and slowly wean you off that way that is totally up 2 your dr the way he/she wants to approach this..but you need to have your dr on board and let them no how you r feeling or nothing will get resolved..so call or make an appt and let them no what is going on so they can treat you accordingly... good luck and let us no how you make out..sending prayers your way..
