I have been on Xanax for several years. In the past month my anxiety has intensified greatly. My dr put me on kolanapin 1 mg 2 times/day. How long does it take before I will feel some much needed relief from the kolanapin?? I'm use to the Xanax being quick acting. Feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.. Any help would greatly be appreciated! I'm so frustrated with my anxiety and I'm trying to be patient and let the meds work...
Xanax and Klonopine are basically the same type of medicine. Xanax works faster for instant relief while Klonopine last longer and helps better with prevention of attacks. Give it a few weeks but it should already be helping you. Seeing how both meds are benzos. Continue to talk to your doctor about how it makes you feel. It will get better. Good luck.
