... at all? I'm too scared to try anything else for my depression so I've just been dealing with it on my own :(
Hi, mama. Honestly, St. John's wort did nothing for me, and since I'm pale blonde and light-skinned I couldn't go out in the sun. But everyone is different in their reactions to all medications. You could try it, but depression isn't something you should try to handle alone - especially if you're trying to deal with 4 kiddies at the same time. I think it's worth a doctor visit. Explain your fears and perhaps you can come up with a compromise; maybe a very low-dose start. Hoping you feel better soon! WC
Hello young mamaof4, I would suggest you talk with your doctor before adding st. Johns wort with xanax. There are some interreactions for this see:
Also if you are having depression, xanax is a benzodiazapine, & is used for anxiety not depression. It sounds like you meed to be evaluated by either a psychiatrist who can get you on the correct meds that may help you. A psychologist cannot write scripts, but can be very useful with depression too. That would be the first step I would take if it were me. The psychologist can always reccomend you see a psychicatrist if they feel you need medicated. Best wishes to you too...
