Along with this I have servere anxiety. I've been taking a 1/4 of .5mg xanax about every 3-4 hrs. As soon as it wears off I'm a big crybaby literally. Is this normal? I'm afraid to be alone now too.
What you may be experiencing is PTSD from the car accident. You may also be having high anxiety associated with it. Part of that is not wanting to be alone. You can look up PTSD and see if your symptoms fit.
There has been some good result with EMDR therapy for what you are experiencing. Be careful with the xanax, it is a benzodiazepine that can over time create tolerance and addiction in some people. It should be used short term.
You may want to look into therapy to help you though this rough time.
Hope you get better soon.
