My main issue is agoraphobia, meaning I am unable to go far from my house without basically losing all self control and I begin to freak out and start heading back homs. I just want to if xanax or something similar would help me. I already kolonpin and propanial, but they don't seem to be enough to help return me to the world or life that I used to have and love and I am only 19 and have suffered with these problems for almost 3 years now. Please help by giving any advice possible.
I would strongly suggest a mental health professional, especially for the PTSD. They can proerly medicate you with more fitting meds for your problems. I also have PTSD and that was the key to my mental normalcy.. Still deal with anxiety, but this is due to the mutiple medical problems I have. That is treated separately. Best of luck to you, ChelleKay
Minnich; What I would do is make an appointment to see the doctor again and explain just what you said here there are many different medications to help build you up And let them know that you are having a real bad time and it feels like nothing is changing. the Agoraphobia is very hard to deal with without taking something stronger such as. the SSRI CLASS OF MEDS OR SSNRI The doctor well know what those are.and if they can't get you going and start to feel better it really is time to seek another opinion. give them some time because the medications I am talking about you can start to feel better in 3 or 4 weeks but it takes more like 6 to 8 to reach a peak level and should slowly be able to get out more Do your best to think positive keep faith and a sense of humor. these all help trust me I have had this for over 40 years. And do pretty well now. And many of this same medication can help with the PTSD but you have to stand your ground and let them know you do not plan on staying in your house forever. You well get better. And do not be surprised Sometimes it takes trying more than one of these medications to find the one that works the best for you. Stick with it and you well come out feeling much better Please let us know how you are doing.
