As Kaismama says, be sure to take the entire prescription of your current med. ten days? I have been switched like you from augmentin when not responding. After this course is done, do back to the doctor and be sure your wound is checked. Sometimes the skin will grow over or scab over and an infection exists below the surface. Doctor may increase the current med or do lab tests and do a higher dose.
Keep the area clean, covered at all times. Wounds heal faster if not open to the air. In addition the bandages will show if there is continuing leaking of fluids. If after a week there is still fluid or pus call the doctor right away. If it gets worse, red, hot to the touch or streaking, you need to see a doctor immediately. Streaking indicates blood poisoning and is very serious and dangerous so don't wait for the doctor to give an appointment. Better to been seen as soon as you notice. It will be very sore and you may run a fever.
If steady healing, keep bathing it and changing bandage at least twice a day. Wish you quick improvement and that you heal quickly.
Thanks, I feel better now.
Keep bathing it,does it mean, pouring water on the wound will not have any adverse observation and no tension on mind?
Soak in water, tub, or apply a wet, clean wash cloth on the wound. Then use with whatever topical antibiotic you have and re bandage. Be sure that anything you wash this with is cleaned with bleach or tossed if you are using gauze.
The water will also loosen the bandage if sticking. Don't pull.
Have you seen the doctor?
Yes, water is very safe. It removes the crusted oozing and keeps the wound free from pus and so forth. Clean allows healing. But do not scrub except for very lightly to remove discharge.
Thanks for clearing tension
