I have been on xanax and clonapin for 20 years and now I'm noticing my depression is high and it takes more clonapin to get my anxiety down and my anxiety is still high. I'm scared to take buspar because I'm scared it won't work
Hello tupac01. I 've been on xanax and also klonapin. Never, as you, been on buspar. Xanax and klonapin are benzodiazepines. I would talk to your dr. and ask her/him if they think its going to benefit you. Twenty years is a long time, and my guess, is that your body has begun or has built up an immunity to the xanax/klonapin. What I've read, the patient reviews, from this site, they are all just about positive in regards to buspar. My own point of view, who needs the increased anxiety, along with depression. After twenty years, I would try another medication, or have the current meds be adjusted to make me feel better. Hope that whatever you decide, it makes you feel better.
