I know that everything you take goes through the liver, but have been taking pain med for 30yrs & don't know if I could handle the pain? This is scary enough without extra worries. Are there guidelines during treatment? ~Thank You~
Hello, there are multitudes of treatment modalities available to folks with chronic pain. For instance, you could try a nerve stimulator it gets placed just below the skin and it sends impulses to interrupt pain pathways and this has worked for so many patients. In the last 30 yrs many new treatments and medications have come forth. First you can discuss with your dr an exercise routine to help build up the surrounding area muscles so that you have a more stabilized area it can actually help reduce pain. Look into trying new modalities to help block pain or reduce it. If you have never seen a interventional pain physician it may be helpful. They are trained to assist patients with other alternatives to medication like that nerve stimulator I had mentioned. These types of specialists are fairly new to the field and I think that it's worth exploring
