If the film doesn't dissolve all the way and I end up swallowing some of it does it still work the same or as well as if it had stayed to my cheek?
What drug are we talking about? Buccal release medication is designed to be absorbed by the mucous membranes of the mouth. I can think of one example: Buprenorphine lose 85% of its affect if swallowed. I'm sure other medications with this delivery system will be fairly similar.
I'm no pro but you will not feel the full affect of the sublingual strip, the ONLY way its absorbed is through the toungue and cheek, its specialy made for just that, to be absorbed through muccoso membranes on the cheek n tongue so you want to try to keep it in your mouth as long as possible if you want full effectiveness and try not to drink anything for at least a half hour after. hope this helps, good luck.
