My husband David just started taking votrient on Friday, but his Doctor is starting him at 200 mg for 2 days, then 400mg for the next 2 days, and then 600 mg, until he gets up to 800mg. Was curious how this drug was working for anyone with sarcoma? Thanks
My wife has just started Vortient for leiomyosarcoma... 4 pills a day, all at one time. It is been very successful in trials with sarcoma patients, but isn't "offically approved" yet, so our insurance company will not cover the cost of the drug. Dr. has been arguing with them till blue in the face...
Does your insurance cover the cost? if so, please post the name of the company in a reply... I am trying to create a list of companies who will cover votrient for sarcoma treatment.
I am battling leiomyosarcoma that had spread to the liver, had 6 round of chemo none were effective.I am now taking votrient been 6 days only, so far no side effect.
I started taking Votrient today for spindle cell synovial sarcoma. It was first discovered in my elbow back in 1992.
How is David? Did it work for him?
My wife just started taking Votrient a few days ago and her Oncologist has the dosage set @ 200mg (1 pill) twice a day. This is to be the dosage for now as I'm told. They have us playing the " here take these pills and let's wait and see what happens" game. I'm not too happy about that, but for now if it helps her in any way, shape, or form then I'm cautiously ok with it. She is courageously battling a soft tissue Sarcoma. Chemotherapy and radiation have both done there fare share of irreparable damage to her body, respectively, and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure what to expect next. Hopefully this drug can help. Good luck and Best Wishes to David and to yourself Karen. Stay strong 'cause he's gonna need his strength and yours to beat this disease.
Hi everyone. ... i have asps which is alveolar soft Part sarcoma. I've been battling it since September 2004. I've had numerous surgeries and have been on numerous drugs. I even went to MD Anderson for 18 months. My cancer is very rare. I have been on votrient for over a year now. I take 800mgs a day. Some days side effects are no big deal, i feel fabulous. ... other days, its horrid. Its hard but i know there are not very many drugs out there for us. We need to stay strong. Its so very hard. ... but when i look at my hubby and three. Kids, i remember its all about them.
My husband is starting votrient today. He has spindle cell sarcoma, 3rd reccurance, with mets to the lungs and plura. He has had surgery three times. Also had radiation and chemo prior to first surgery 15 years ago. Will update as his treatment continues.
