... Trying to get pain relief already have 2 spinal stim
cicndi421, welcome to the site. I believe it will be a morphine drip that you will be getting. You should really reaseach this & talk with your doctor. I would be quite interested in the why & what about you stimulator & as they want me to try a trial soon of the spinal cord stimlators, & my new pain doc is really pushing it. I don't believe it will help me either. Years ago it was suggested to me by the Forida Spinal Clinic in Clearwater, & but I wanted to do it back home in Illinois, but had to see a neruosugeron & a physchologist & neither plus another neurologist thought it would help my back condition that goes into my legs. Mine is from messed up surgery that left all the nerve roots embedded in scar tissue (44 years ago) & no new surgery can be done.I am talking with someone else who is getting it done in a few days & hoping it helps her, but it scares me to death! They haven't so much as looked at my MRI to see what damage I have,& that my verve roots run perifpherlly instaead of laterally & that I have a huge cyst in my lower spinl canal! They are kind of threatening to take away all but 2 pain pills aday unless I try the trial. I now take 6 & they still don't help all that much I would love to keep in touch with you about this since you have tried it. My hubby had a pain box for morphine back in the ninties, but he had an allergic reaction to it & it had to be removed. Things have improved since then & I wish you all the best. I will friend you If you would please answer some of my questions about your back problems & thoughts on the spinal cord stimulator. Thanks... Mary32009
I have very painful small fiber sensory peripheral neuropathy. I had a trial for the spinal cord stimulator, but that didn't help. I'm planning to have the trial for the pain pump hopefully in March. I thought they can use different drugs not just morphine. It's a 3 day hospitalization while they see if this type of pain delivery while help relieve the pain better than the amount of medicine I take. If anyone had any other comments on the pain pump and their experience with it, I would be most interested. Right now, I am on Opana ER 100mg along with Trileptal and Zonegren.
