Needle stick injury 22-23 years ago; a former friends Uncle left a bag of uncapped syringes in my house after I accused him of being filthy and that he was not welcome (given a few minutes with a calendar application and I could give you the exact date). I was lucky and did not get HBV from him too as I had been vaccinated. Most older people (around my age and above) that I have spoken to got it from infected blood during transfusions before screening was introduced on donated blood. Others simply have no idea. Dodgy tattoos are another candidate. Many people don't say and it can be rude to ask straight out.
