I was wondering if anyone else takes Gabapentin for Fibromyalgia? I've been on it for about 2 year's now and it really doesn't help I've noticed some things such as being in more pain, blurred vision, gained we, and more can anyone help or have any advice. I don't take any kind of pain medication but that is by choice I'm not trying to mask the pain help any suggestions thanks in advance! Dee
I took Gabapentin and had the same side effects and had to stop Gabapentin. I had much worse luck with Lyrica so now I use physical therapy, warm baths and gentle exercise/stretching/yoga to combat the pain. It's been the most effective method for me, but that doesn't mean it's been easy.
I was on it for 2 yrs but honestly it didn't help me. After 2 yrs I tapered off from 900mg. stayed of for 6 months and went back on to appease my doctor. 8 months later I finally just told him there was no difference and I was wasting money. been off since October 2016, no better, no worse. But, I know people who swear by it and have read some promising post around this site. Different people react differently. Remember, it is highly important to give meds a chance to work. I don't know of quick fixes. you can't rule it out till you give it an honest to goodness try. By the way, I had no bad side effects at 900mg. It just didn't help me and I gave it a good run. However, I am on a lot of medicine for other diagnosis's, including pain meds. I deal w/ a lot of pain. Good luck and best wishes. Chelle
