I have suffered with chronic back and leg pain for four years due to disc problems. I've had 2 surgeries, multiple injections, procedures and have tried Gabapentin and Cymbalta with very bad side effects. For the past three months I've been on Savella and it nearly made my pain disappear, I haven't felt that much relief in years, it was amazing. Recently I developed very bad cystitis which feels like a constant horrible urinary tract infection. My doctors determined it was from the Savella and have taken me off it, it has only been a little over a week and all my pain is coming back. I'm hoping to find something like Savella, but I don't know what is left to try... and am almost thinking the trade-off might be worth it.
Hello, the only drug I found that was similar is Cymbalta but you've tried that already. I would love to find a cheaper generic Lyrica. I'm on another support group for fibromyalgia. Every one there says that Lyrica or Cymbalta is the only drug they have found that works similar to Savella. Oh and if course Gabapentin. I wish I had a better answer for you. I have to stick to my gabapentin and strong pain pills. I hate to take the pain meds they make me feel almost invincible. By that I mean I feel so much better and try to do everything in my power while not hurting. The downfall is I suffer for a few days afterwards. Not really worth those 4 hours of relief ya know. I also suffer from bulging or herniated discs. Yesterday the doctor say it worse than ever now. I don't know what to do for the pain either. Good luck in finding an equal to Savella. If you do let me know please. Pepper
