My daughter has had fibro/ chronic fatigue and hasn`t had a decent nights sleep since her daughter was born 16 yearrs ago--she has tried narcotics and flexeril, soma but with no help--will zanaflax work?
While I have never taken zanaflex, it may work to help with muscle spasms and the associated pain as it is a skeletal muscle relaxant that blocks nerve impulses to the brain. Please read about it by plugging into the search window above. It mentions that food will interact with it so discuss this with the doctor. Also, do not stop taking it abruptly. You have to taper off.
My sister has fibro and has had some relief from neurontin. Has your daughter tried it? There is also lyrica and savella for fibro pain. Lyrica is very similar to neurontin. I have a friend with fibro and she found releif with savella. Just some suggestions.
Hello, I too have had fibromyalgia (FMS) all my life. What you want is not a band-aid solution, but one that will permanently take away any FMS symptoms gradually. There is such a wonderful protocol out there. All natural that DOES WORK.
I used to take 8 or more painkillers daily and that was not enough. Now I take 2 about every 3-4 weeks. I used to never get a good sleep. Now I get a great sleep every night. My type 1 diabetes is starting to be in better control (no more insulin resistance) and my immune system is calming down (first cold in 10 years). My skin, hair, nails, joints are all showing improvement and my fatigue levels are soooo much better. My sons have also taken it for the last three years and have their own positive success stories to tell. What is it?
The protocol was developed by a fellow FMS suffer who no longer suffers with it and is still working hard at age 85. He is a doctor (a diabetec specialist) who has written 5 books on FMS, done research and written papers and has developed this protocol over 45 years. Thousands and thousands have benefited and gone back to leading healthy lives. DON'T let any naysayers tell you that it doesn't work. Read his book and go on the website. Do everything that they recommend and be patient. It does take time and patience, but it WORKS! The book is called, WHAT YOUR DOCTOR MAY NOT TELL YOU ABOUT FIBROMYALGIA, and the website is fibromyalgiatreatment.com
You won't be sorry. Go ahead and start the healing process. Until I found this, I was completely depressed. This is the only thing that will get rid of the symptoms instead of just masking them until you can no longer function.
Best of luck
I have Fibromyalsia/ chronic pain since I was a child, my oldest daughter has it as well. I have tried zanaflex its not big on pain.. I would rank it as a 3 on a 10 being best scale.
Pool therapy.. just walking a few days a week in a heated pool, I take Cymbalta and a few pain Meds everyday. Also xanax helps me to relax.. I have really bad BAD, ANXIETY. I am fighting through my day to day. My daughter is as well, so much so she could not rock my grandbaby in her arms.
I feel her pain and mine it makes me sad and I hope she gets better and find something that works.
Hello, I have started taking Zanaflex for my fibro, along with voltaren, and I love it. I only take it at night, and it really helps. I also take Ambien Cr, but they weren't completely holding through the night. with taking the zanaflex, it helps me sleep, and helps with pain. Sometimes when it gets really bad during the day, I will take one in the morning, and I am almost pain free. I have found that combining voltaren which is a NSAID with them they work great. I wouldn't change them. I hope this helps you. also. it depends on if you get the capsule or the tablet. they work differently. So make sure you discuss them with your doctor and pharmacist on the differences in how to take them. one of them you have to wait to eat anything, 1-2 hours before taking them. So you want to make sure you know that.
You didn't mention many medications that your daughter has tried. All I can tell you is that taking Trazodone at night has helped me from being in pain to do everything including getting dressed to helping me to function much better without nearly the pain. I take it at night because it causes drowsiness.
