I have been taking Norco 10/325's 6-8 times a day for about 3 years now for problems with my back, 3 problems as a matter of fact, surgery is not an option. So, I saw my Doctor last friday and I asked him for a longer acting pain reliever and stated to him that I am afraid of what all that Tylenol is doing to my liver, so he prescribed 20mg Oxycontin for to take 2 times a day. Is this going to be better for me and is it going to handle the pain as well as the Norco has been? And does Oxycontin have Tylenol in it?
oxycontin is oxycodone, and you have been taking hydrocodone, so yes the effect is going to be different on you and on your pain level. everyone is different. no, there is no tylenol in oxycodone, that is why he wrote you this. now if the oxycodone doesn't hold you for the day, he will have to give you something for break through, if it doesn't help much, he will have to give you a stronger oxy. hope this helped
