I've had a great run on Prozac—worked like a charm for 12 years but now has quit. I've tried many AD's since and nothing has helped. Has anyone gone off Prozac and had it work again after a break? If so, how long of a break to make it effective again? Thanks.
Will Prozac work again?

Your question reminds me of my sister, she was saved by prozac and then it quit, and like you she tried different and finally got with effexor (during the day) and then serequil at nite and it finally got right. But I have never heard of being off and then going back on and it working unless it was coupled up with another drug that helps prozac out. but i will keep on checking for you
I was on Prozac for a long time and taken off because my doctor said there were better anti-depressants out there plus I kept having my dose increase. that was a very bad thing... I am now taking 80 mg per day and have never been feeling better. Prozac is the most wonderful drug for me. It helps with depression and panic attacks. Good luck.
