my wife battling depression, sleeps constantly about 20 hr. Day
Alan45; That is a big sign of depression has she seen a doctor yet. They have many good medications nobody should have to live like this in this day and age. If she has not been in looking up mental health clinics in the phonebook. or worse come take her to an E.R. This can't go on. and remember the meds take a while to build up once they have the right combination. But getting her in is the first thing. this way they can also make sure that nothing else is going on with her also. Goodluck. Chuck1957
You have my empathy. I am also doing the same thing. Was sleeping 16-20 hrs/day. Have been hospitalized for it in the past. On meds now that do help some but I still go through periods where this happens again and need meds adjusted. I was a nurse and had to stop working because of Lyme disease, fibro & chronic fatigue. Please help her get the help she needs. She may need you to take control to get to treatment. I didn't even have the will to take care of myself. Your question tells me you care and that is awesome! I couldn't get through this without my husbands support. I have been seeing a psychiatrist for approximately 10 years. Make sure they LISTEN to her. If not, find another. The ER will probably recommend inpatient help. I would check out where they refer to. I was locked up in an awful place the first time. Very frightening! Second time, 5years later was wonderful! Helped tremendously. Good luck and God Bless both of you.
