I have had 4 lower back surgeries and Lortab is the only medication that does not have severe side effects. I have developed spinal stenosis. My entire body aches without Lortab. I cannot live my life suffering because I can't readily find a pharmacy that contineously carries Lortab. They all tell me that Vicodin and the generics are the same. I have a severe reaction to those medication!!!
I'm not sure if this is the answer but it could be, I read awhile back that the government is pushing drug makers to reduce the amount of acetaminophen in these combo drug products to be no more than 325mg per pill. You might see if your pharamcy carries versions with less acetaminophen, since yours is 500mg per pill. Again, I'm not sure if this is why you are finding these hard to obtain but it is a possibility. If this is the case, your Dr will need to prescribe you a version with a lower amount of acetaminophen. Unfortunately, in the US, hydrocodone is not available by itself without acetaminophen.
