Why does Prinivil MSD 106 come in a U shape and a capsule shaped pill?

Yes, it does seem that the shape has changed this year. The U shape tablet is the old shape and the new one is described as follows
Tablets PRINIVIL, 10 mg, are light yellow, oval shaped compressed tablets with code MSD 106 on one side and scored on the other side.

Sometimes when the imprint stays the same it is hard to pick up on just a pill shape change. I have emailed this website, so they should updated the info on their website soon. Thanks for your question.
