I find it stupid that with many health issues that I have that my doctor wont put me on percs. because they are addicting. I was on them over 20 years and when he stopped me I had no problems except alot of pain! My new doctor refused to put me back on them and put me on a drug called methodone instead. This drug does nothing but make you eat and sleep! At least the percs.gave me a life! I have none now..My old doctor took me off them after 20 yrs. with no reason. I just dont understand these doctors anymore. Thanks for reading and write me if you have answers or help for me to ca11inga11angels at aol com.
Unfortunately because the big bad DEA has got all these panty-waisted docs terriffied of them. I was just informed that I am on some nefarious list! WHAT LIST??? I went to the same docs with the same probs but somehow I am the bad guy! I wish i could help you but it seems these doctors are just into the $$$$ game. Does anybody remember when docs gave a damn and came to your house? Were on time?? And really took a vested interest in who YOU are?? Now they don't care cause they are too scared and unfortunately they are not they ones who suffer!!!
I'm so sorry to hear you are going through some much pain and having even more difficulty with your Dr. You would think after 20 years they would leave well enough alone since this was working for you and its sad they even had to do this to you. I agree and always have have.. Don't try and fix what isn't broken. If this was working for you why change it right?? I think he should of explained his intentions more and seeing that this could of and indeed has impacted your life its creating more problems for you than its worth its just not fair to you at all. My thought on this is, i think he did what he did because of the amount of time you were on the percocet. Maybe he has concerns with so much tylenol day in and day out for the past 20 years. However that being said, percocet comes without tylenol should that be his concern. I think it may be worth asking him about this and ask him why you cannot go on Roxicodone which is oxycodone without Tylenol. It does the same job without the tylenol. How long have you been on methadone? In most cases I would always recommend methadone even over morphine and oxycontin and Percocet. Because I have found this drug gave me back a life because it lasts fat longer and worked better for me for pain. I knowe everyone is different when it comes to drugs but ws wondering how long you have been trying it. It took me a good few weeks to get it working good in my system with adjustments in doses and all that BUT i also use roxicodone for break thru pain. What works for one doesnt always work for the next and io completely understand that. If you can call him your Dr and speak to him and tell him you want to know exactly why he made this switch and that this is effecting your life a lot. Also mentioned the percocet/oxycodone that comes with out tylenol. You Dr obviously isnt afraid to prescribe narcotics because he is giving you methadone for pain. If you want to try and give it a bit longer It worked fantastic for me but like i said it did take a little time with adjustments. I hope you get to feeling better soon and i sure hope you can get this worked out with your Dr. Take care... Snakey
