My mother has some dementia, but basically has not spoken for 6 months. In early January, she took Bactrim for 7 days and started speaking the 2nd day on Bactrim. Three weeks later she was given Bactrim for 3 days and again started speaking on the 2nd day. As soon as the Bactrim is stopped, she stops speaking again. (Note: She has had oral thrush for several months also.)
Why did my elderly mother (mute for 6 months) speak for 7 days, then 3 days while on Bactrim?

- bactrim, infection prophylaxis, bacterial infection, upper respiratory tract infection, methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus infection
A friend of mine husband was in a semi coma till I suggested ginsing. He woke up and could follow commands of the doctor. Soon as he was off he went back into a coma. Sometimes we are shown miracles, and all I can say we are the blessed.
To get rid of the thrush. Just brush the tongue and it should start to come off.
The tongue should always be brushed to prevent bacteria from building up.
