I have been taking Levemir for about 6 weeks, the first ten day it worked great, after that I got a new suppy from my prescription drug company and now my average blood sugar readings are around 200. My doctor says that my pancreas might not be producing insulin now that I am taking it but over time it will start working. I am up to 40 units now and still no better results, I got good results from the sample my doctor gave me, any thoughts. Bob
When first starting a new insulin it can take a while for the body to adjust. If you are unhappy with your blood-glucose readings visit your doctor again for advise. It would be unlikey that there is a problem with the Levemir insulin.
