Diagnosed 8 years ago with Fibromyagia and My Doctor gave me Tramadol and it really worked for mr, even on my headaches, But after that Dr. dropped my insurance carrier I havent been able to locate a PCP who will prescribe it to me
I am hoping doctor's are finally getting wise to what an evil drug this is. I too suffer from severe, chronic headaches and was put on Tramadol. It starts out great, you have all kinds of energy, I was in a great mood, and it took the pain away. But then it stopped and I felt tired all the time and didn't want to leave my house. I won't even get started on how bad the withdrawls are coming off of them. I am just saying, try something else besides the Tramadol.
Tramadol is now being recognized as a medication that can be abused, you can become dependent and have some pretty nasty withdrawal. Please switch to a Pain Management doctor, and they may RX this for occasional use or some other type of medication or medications that will help.
Hi, i agree with the guys, it is likely that the doctors you have seen have refused to prescribe it due to it being abused/habit forming/addictive. You might want to consider asking about Amitriptyline for long term pain control. It is an 'old' antidepressant medication, but has been shown to help induce sleep and relieve pain. I was prescribed it some years ago when i injured my back. I still take it several years later
