Freind w/ inoperable condiction switched to 15 mg oxycodone 1x 5 per day (lit'l blue pill) from norco 2x ever 4 hrs per day (numerous other meds) about 1 month ago and is having much more pain than usual. Taking the usual vultarin, flexeril, etc but pain meds just dont seem to work for him. Are the norco stronger?? He goes to his pain doctor in about 10 days and I offered to check with you guys for him. Pls help. Dad
quick release opiates like norco's, oxycodone, statex ect aren't much use for chronic pain. You get to tolerent to them and using a sustained release opiate would be much more effective. If he is getting relief from norco's then I would question whether he needs opiates at all and could get by on non-prescription pain relievers...
If he is having that much pain maybe try either 200 mg or 350 mg soma twice a day and 10 mg OxyContin twice a day. That is too much OxyCodone a day and the Narco has 325 mg of Tylenol in it as well. Tylenol is 3000 mg or 3 grams MAX per day.
