Taking Lexepro for 8 days and need to take a nap every day and sleep 12 hours a night. Does this side affect go away... Thank you, Ellie
When will the drowsiness go away?
Added 5 Oct 2010:
Only on the lowest dose of 5 mg. By 4PM, I want to go to bed for the night! Manage to make it until 6:30PM or 7:30PM at the latest. I wake up every night around 10PM to drink Ensure for weight loss and that is when I take my pill and go back to bed. That is after taking a two hour nap in the early afternoon. I am taking it for fibromyalgia pain and will see the doctor again at the end of this month. Will stick with it until then but wondered if other people experienced this severe sleepiness?........Thanks, Ellie
I was on it for a few years and my doc had to take me off just because it was not a good choice at the tie for me since I was on high doses of narcotics. however it definatly made me want to sleep funny the pai meds never made me sleep probably since I was out of pain I never had a problem with the lexepro until I went into the hospital with bad case of pheumonia until I overdosed when I was taking my meds while eating and was not thinking and chewed em up and next I new I was stair ing at a bunch of docs asking me if I knew my name and did I know what happened. No fun
anyway i really hope this help out and please disregard any typo's
Has the drowsiness gone away? It depends how much you take... at 5 or 10MG you shouldn't be drowsy for more than a week. At 20MG or more you may always feel a bit drowsy. Make sure you take with a meal... if you are still drowsy, take it at night. Lexapro is probably the least "sleepy" SSRI out there so you might need to adjust your dose.
