I have heard the patent runs out this July, but can't find confirmation. Anyone know?
No, because of the cost of XR you can get the generic Venlafaxine and depending on the dose you may only have to take 1 a day anyway. I like the XR but had to change to the generic non XR and take 3 times daily. The XR is so much better and the other still is not cheap, even with insurance. The are some sites where you get a card that will give x amount off the XR, even the company that makes it. Wink-Wink, I'm on another med. that my DR. just increased the dose and even have their discount card($75) per month and still is outrageous. 30 pills @150mg are 268.00, with discount. Then I went the NorthwestPharmacy.com (Canada) and 100 pills @150mg were only $99.00. That's 3 times the amount for a third of the price here. Maybe the EffexorXR will be much lower also. Good luck!
