which one is stronger
There are 2 differences. The CR in the name Ambien CR means it's released slowly into your body. Actually, I think with Ambien CR half the dose is released immediately, and the other half a few hours later. So drugs that are designated as CR meds are released a little bit every 1 or 2 hours. But I think with Ambien they made it so you get 2 doses with the 1 pill. They did this because too many people say Ambien puts them to sleep fine. But they don't stay asleep. That's the reason for the second release. The other difference in the 2 pills is the mg in them. One pill has 10 mg of Ambien, and the other has 12.5 mg. Just remember, the 12.5 mg is given to you as 6.25 mg right away, and then another 6.25 mg later on. So obviously the Ambien CR is the stronger pill. But, it probably doesn't feel that way because of what I already said. If you don't have a problem with waking up a few hours after the Ambien hits you, then you're probably better off with the Ambien 10. But if the problem is not staying asleep all night, then I'd go with the Ambien CR.
