My doctor is tapering me off of lexapro which I've been on for a little over a year and starting me on cymbalta 30mg. I am down to 10mg daily on lexapro decreasing the dose each week while at the same time continuing cymbalta. Anyone in a similar case experience any side effects switching between these meds?
I have not been on Lexapro but I was on Celexa which is considered the "cousin" of Lexapro and given to many who cannot afford Lexapro. Celexa worked pretty well but Cymbalta is so much better. I do not have near the appetite cravings like I did with Celexa and some other anti-depressants. Also, Cymbalta helps with joint pain and other pains you may have. It is expensive but I am glad my insurance covers it because it works so much better than Celexa did. My sister - in - law is on Lexapro and likes it but still has a great deal of anxiety and needs other meds besides. I think you will enjoy cymbalta.
