I am so nervous of my son's first treatment tomorrow on subs. I have been reading all your comments, some good some bad. I even got the COWS sheet off the internet and have read it. I am hoping the doctor there tomorrow will include me in some of the details of my son's treatment but I don't want to interfere since this is my son's choice and will be there to support him 100%. I just want everything good to come out of this. I told my son to be honest and open with the doctor. I want him to do this for himself and get better. Any advice for a scared parent.
I mean no offense when I say this, but your son must want to get off opiates for himself. You are indeed a great parent to be in his corner. Yet, he is a grown man, no?
If so, let him take charge of his own recovery. This will be difficult for him, but it can be done.
