My doc recently switcht me from .5mg Xanax 4 times a to 10mg of valium twice a day, but I am feeling more uneasy then when I was on the Xanax. Thanx
This question has also been asked and answered here: Valium vs Xanax: What's the difference?
If you were on .5 mg xanax 4 times a day that is a total of 2 mgs a day which is comparable to the 10mg Valium twice a day. You may have to go through a little period of adjustment with this med change. Give it a week, if the symptoms are still bothersome, your doctor needs to be notified. He may want you to take the 5 mg three to four times aday instead. Just my thought, but best to work with the doctor.
Good luck and keep posting,
I agree with Laurie, you'll just have to give it time for the change in meds, even tho they're both benzos, they will work differently and in time.
If you have further concerns you should contact your doc.
Just give it time first and see how it goes.
Wish you all the best and hopefully the valium will take as good effect as the xanax.
