or is it all about the talking therapy?
First, as above, the only effective treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder is indvidual cognitive therapy; an interesting approach to this treatment has been developed by Marsha Linehan, Phd, named "DBT" which stands for Dialecticl Behavior Therapy. I have have seen this approach, in a local, community mental health center, and surprisingly, it seemed to be very effect. However, I must caution, I do not know nationally or other communities or persons.
Second, there is no medication specifically made for Asperger's Sydrome. Medications, are given, many times for specific needs. So, we treat the symptoms of the syndrome, and co-existing possible mental health pathology. Some examples are mood stabilizers/antipsychotics, and some sources say this can be beneficial, Naltrexone, although this is definitely off label for mood, impulse and anger dyscontrol. I could go on for years but will not. Hope that this helps.
