Unfortunately, none of the databases on the internet carry data from that time.
Endo Pharmaceuticals pre-1997 http://www.endo.com/about-us/history produced two popular painkillers - Percodan, launched in 1950 and Percocet, launched in 1970. Both pills contained oxycodone. Percodan contained aspirin in combination with the oxycodone, and would have eventually been phased out by the introduction of Percocet, which contained acetaminophen instead of aspirin.
Unfortunately you don't mention the color. There is some info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percodan which suggests Percodan is (and possibly always was) yellow so that may help narrow it down.
