I only know of 2 reasons why a male would be given provera. First, if that male has prostate cancer and is exhibiting hotflashes. Second (and more psychologically based) would be if that male is experiencing some type of paraphilia (which is a condition, in either men or women, of compulsive responsivity and obligatory dependence on an unusual or personally or socially unacceptable external stimulus or internal fantasy for sexual arousal or orgasm). I hope this isn't something that will upset you because I am just being honest here. Hope this helps.
