I saw a posting on this site about the negative side effects of Trivita and that attributed the side effects to the Mannitol that is added. If TriVita Sublingual B-12 is sold as a B-12 supplement I would like to understand the benefit and need of a diuretic in it.
In this instance Mannitol is used in low concentrations as a sweetening agent, not as an osmotic diuretic - would usually be used intravenously for this purpose.
In higher doses it is used as a laxative in children.
