My wife has been on zometa once per month untill 4 months ago. During that time she had a second breast cancer and after stopping for three months her old bone cancer showed activity and a new one showed up on the pet.
Hi, i think it really depends on the patient in question as there are varying degrees of length of treatment. Some professionals will say that treatment should not exceed a year, whereas others will happily prescribe it for 4 years + The type of cancer and how advanced it is will make a difference as well as the patients age, medical history and efficacy of the treatment. Sorry i can't give you a direct answer, it is a bit of a grey area
