A few days (2-5) should be sufficient when stopping Concerta and starting Dexedrine. Taking both methylphenidate (active ingredient in Concerta) and amphetamines (Dexedrine) is not necessarily harmful, unless you're taking high doses of both. Some doctors prescribe both methylphenidate and an amphetamine in low doses, and many patients report this is quite effective. Not saying you should take both at the same time but the washout period doesn't have to be that long.
