The Oxycontin with the OC on one side are not produced any longer. The new version, OP stands for Oxycontin Purdue & when a pharmacy has to reorder any strength of Oxycontin, they will automatically receive the new OP version. They will not have a choice. They changed the chemical compound (none of the actual drug was removed) by adding something that would make it nearly impossible for people to abuse it. They were abusing the drug by crushing it to snort, dissolving to inject or chewing them to get a maximum high. That's the good news. The bad news is that whatever they added to it has changed how well it works & how long it lasts.

The difference is this is the new medicene, theyve made it so that it cant be abused, from what I understand if you crush it it looses its effect and is no longer any good.It must be taken as directed. Its suppose to turn into a rubbery substance if snorted or shot up. Have a bless day!! P.S why dont you call the pharmacy, they are screening all calls for all oxycontin, so I hear. The information is on the bottle.

Hello,

Oxycotin OP.-

The new tamper-proof Oxycontin pill contains a newly designed polymer. The polymer still surrounds the active ingredient, even when forcefully crushed. However, the polymer also makes it much more difficult to crush the pill. When the pill fragments are heated, the product becomes a viscous gel. This makes it difficult for IV opiate users to use a needle for injection.

The appearance of the new pill versus the current Oxycontin pill is the same. The stamp on the front of the pill is labeled “OP” instead of “OC.” The colors are the same for each milligram dosage.

The new OP Oxycontin Contains no Narcan. Inactive ingredients in all strengths: butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), hypromellose, polyethylene glycol 400, polyethylene oxide, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide.

Take care.-

hi miss b haven, the filler chemicals have been reengineered to cut down on them from being shot, smoked or snorted.because too many people were "miss be having" on them. cause the next step may get them taken off the market. that would be a shame for the people who really need them.

I agree with you my friend, there are a lot of people who need the oc, as I have read the op is not as strong.-

Have a good day.-
