I was just prescribed synthroid 50. for problems with my thyroid. I was told by a friend that Armour throid was better for you, with less side effects. What is the difference between the two. They just did a anti-body test as well. Still don"t have results yet. Thank you. Bonnie
Armour Thyroid tablets are natural preparations derived from porcine [pork] thyroid glands. They contain both T4 and T3 thyroid hormones.
Synthroid is a synthetic (man made) drug containing levothyroxine / T4 thyroid hormone.
