I'm not sure what's meant by reacted magnesium -- chelated, perhaps? In any event, the body absorbs only about 8% of magnesium oxide, which makes one of the least desirable forms. Why is so much of it sold? Because it's dirt cheap. I use 100% chelated high absorption magnesium. On the other hand, if you're using magnesium only for its laxative effect, magnesium oxide will certainly do the trick!
