Lorazepam is a prescription medication that is used to treat anxiety. An injectable form of the medicine is also available. The injectable form of lorazepam is used to decrease nervous tension and anxiety, as well as treat severe seizures (known medically as status epilepticus). Lorazepam is part of a group of medications called benzodiazepines.

Diazepam s a prescription medication that is used to treat the following conditions: Anxiety; Alcohol withdrawal; Muscle spasms; Seizures (when used along with other seizure medications).

However, please do seek info from a doc/pharmacist, take care, be well & safe!

Hey zippy,

While lorazepam and diazepam are both benzodiazepines used for treating such conditions as anxiety, insomnia, and muscle spasms, there are some differences. Diazepam works within the first 15 minutes and last much longer while lorazepam is intermediate in onset (15 to 30 minutes) and is intermediate in how long it lasts.

Hope this helps,
