My insurance co won't pay for the brand & said I had to take Loratadine which does nothing for my allergies. I have taken Allegra D 12/hr for years but the new ins co won't let me (BCBS of MI). The generic is NOT the same & is causing significant problems for me. What is the difference between the two meds? I can't sleep, I am really jumpy and my acid reflux has gotten really bad since starting the generic. It also does not take care of all of my problems: eyes still run constantly, sill have a productive cough & very conjested. The cost to me is not cheap either. Over the years I have taken: Zertec, Clariton, Allegra, Allegra D and Allegra D 12/hr. Why is the generic causing so many problems?
