So, I have a prescription for celebrex and one for naproxen. There was a note on my meds stating I do not need to take them together. Would it be okay if I alternated days? For example, take celebrex today, and naproxen tomorrow?
They are essentially the same type of medicine - nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The main advantage of Celebrex over Naproxen is that it is a lot "gentler" on your stomach.
If you took them both together you would be doubling up on anti-inflammatory medication and more likely to experience side effects.
There would be nothing wrong with taking them on alternate days.
