I had nissan fundiplication in 1997, the symptoms returned after 11 years! I have had 6 months of losec to no effect, ranitidine worked for a while but some symptoms are returning, thought I may be taking it at wrong time! Reflux is not so severe this time, and I am still able to eat early in the day, but pain and discomfort are very distressing.
What time of day are you taking them at the moment?
It doesn't particularly matter what time of day you take the ranitidine but given your symptoms the morning, before breakfast, may be best.
Have you talked with your doctor about how you are feeling. You may get more effective relief if you try taking 150mg twice daily?
