to come off of? Has anyone out there completed a Suboxone Program? Say in a year or less?
i was snorting on average 100mg oxycotin a day for about a year and before that vicodin and loratabs here and there for a couple years went cold turkey for 3 days could not take it was told about suboxone went to a sub dr started out at 12 mg suboxone a day all in morning tapered off about 2 mg about every 3 weeks till i was down to 2mg took that for last month then went cold turkey had minor withdraws for 3 to 4 days then felt fine NOW THIS WAS ME I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE YOU FALSE HOPE you may be different you may have to start on a higher dose --taper off longer and there are many people on this site who think suboxone is horrible so join the suboxone support group make friends with people who you think have good advice but suboxone worked for me i still love opiates and it is a struggle to stay away but thats another story i know very little about methadone remember suboxone is trading one addiction for another but if used properly can work also depending on your insurance it can be expensive also while i was taking suboxone i took lunesta to sleep better at night
I'v been on both of them numerous times(not at the same time of course). I am on methadone right now. I get side effects from suboxone. Can't sleep at all without sleep aids. i get an anxious feeling from it. I have a crazy high sex drive on it and get premature ejaculation badly. No side effects from methadone at all. Suboxone only partially attaches to the opiod recepters and methadone fully attaches to them. When taking suboxone a person addicted to opiates will not feel the suboxone (like getting a high from it). Methadone however is mood and mind altering and you can get high off of it if you take a higher dose then normal. Both are very hard to come off. Doctors wrongly say suboxone ie alot easier but just look at various logs of people coming off of it and it is just as brutal. IMO the suboxone ie worse in that the PAWS last alot longer. I kicked both of them numerous times in jail.
